JUKKA-PEKKA SARASTE HOMEPAGE HAS BEEN RELEASED

Arte Povera, the company responsible for development of eConcerthouse-portal, has realized the multimedia homepage of Jukka-Pekka Saraste. Among other things, many concert recordings and audio files may be found on these pages. The Bio section features many videos from the YLE archives.Currently Jukka-Pekka Saraste is the principal conductor of WDR Symphony and The Oslo Symphony orchestras. He is also the artistic director and conductor of Nordea Jean Sibelius Orchestra. In November the orchestra released a new album through EMI Records. The video material for this release was produced by eConcerthouse at Helsinki Music Centre in August 2011.

Some audio problems were present during the Nordea Jean Sibelius Orchestra album release concert. These problems were caused by damaged equipment at the Helsinki Music Centre. It wasn't possible to fix the equipment, despite the efforts of the staff. The recording may be viewed on the Helsingin Sanomat webpage, and in the eConcerthouse archive. The live broadcast was viewed online by a record-breaking audience, over 12.000 people!

ERIK XIV THE Opera

The live broadcast of the opera Eerik XIV was a success. It was broadcast online on saturday, the 26th of November (at 3 - 6.25 PM). The premiere of the opera at Logomo on Tuesday 22nd of November 2011 was received enthusiastically. The online audience also praised this magnificent work! Both direction and production were deemed excellent. The opera reached 4500 online views.
The unique realization of the Eerik XIV opera brings together cinema and opera on stage. A multilayered performance is viewed both on stage and on large screens. Eerik XIV is a story about King Erik, his beloved Karin Månsdotter, power, imprisonment, love and madness. Multi-dimensional technical solutions, amazing music and world-class soloists provide a work which delves deep into one of most interesting regent destinies of our history.
This opera in 3 acts features 10 soloists, opera chorus and large orchestra. The work was commissioned by Turku City from composer Mikko Heiniö and librettist Juha Siltanen to honour the Culture Capital year. The production is a part of "Turku 2011 Culture Capital" official program.

TFO SEASON PROGRAM 2012 RELEASED

Leif Segerstam invites everyone to hear about year 2012! The coming TFO season program will be revealed at Turku main library with our maestro.
The philharmonics extend their invitation to attend the release of season 2012 program on Tuesday 27th of September at 5 - 6 PM. This musical celebration consists of musical display of the philharmonics and questions from the audience will be answered. Now the audience will have a unique opportynity to ask maestro Segerstam about future concerts or everyday life of a leading conductor. The other artists attending will also participate in the Q & A.

Klassisen musiikin taiteilijat aloittivat musiikkivideoiden aikakauden.
Musiikkivideot ovat tuttuja populaarimusiikin kentällä jo neljältä vuosikymmeneltä. Nyt uraa uurretaan myös klassisen musiikin saralla. Klassisen musiikin taiteilijat ovat pitäytyneet musiikissa itsessään, vaikka samaan aikaan maailma ympärillämme on vahvasti audiovisualisoitunut.
Kansainvälistä uraa luova, Amsterdamissa asuva, kiiminkiläislähtöinen mezzosopraano Virpi Räisänen ja kiiminkiläinen säveltäjä Ilmari Mäenpää näyttävät nyt ilmestyvällä Trasparente-musiikkivideollaan suuntaa uudentyyppiselle klassisen musiikin kerronnalle. Pohjoissuomalaiset juuret omaavat taiteilijat haluavat viedä teoksella kotiseutunsa kulttuuria ja suomalaista musiikkia ulkomaille. Trasparente-musiikkivideo julkistettiin Helsingissä perjantaina 6.5.2011. Virpi Räisänen on toiminut pitkään muusikkona Alankomaiden kamariorkesterissa, josta hän siirtyi oopperalaulajan uralle 2007. Hän on myös kehittänyt uniikin tavan yhdistää korkeatasoisen viulunsoiton ja lauluääneen. Ilmari Mäenpää on säveltänyt tilausteoksia muun muassa Taidekeskus Salmelalle, Oulu sinfonialle ja useille eri kokoonpanoille.
Tuore video pohjautuu mezzosopraano Virpi Räisäsen, säveltäjä Ilmari Mäenpäältä 2006 tilaamaan Trasparente-teokseen, jossa artisti laulaa ja soittaa viulua samanaikaisesti. Videon sanat pohjautuvat Mäenpään kirjoittamaan lyhyeen italiankieliseen, riskinottoa käsittelevään runoon. Teosta on esitetty Virpi Räisäsen muodostamalla viulu-laulu duolla useita kertoja kotimaassa ja ulkomailla.
Kevättalvella 2010 Hailuodon edustan merenjäällä kuvatun Trasparente-musiikkivideon on käsikirjoittanut ja ohjannut Tapani Launonen. Launonen kertoo: "Täytyy tunnustaa, että klassinen musiikki ei ole kuulunut henkilökohtaiseen soittolistaani. Otin silti ohjaustyön innolla vastaan ja näin työn hienona haasteena, koska klassisia musiikkivideoita ei ole juurikaan tehty. Virpin virtuoosinen esitys ja Ilmarin hieno sävellys saivat heti kuvat ja tarinan vilisemään päässäni". Launonen on aiemmin ohjannut useita tanssielokuvia ja videolavastuksia.
Videon tuotannosta ovat vastanneet Klaffituotannot Oy sekä e-concerthouse. Video on katsottavissa internetissä muun muassa e-concerthouse-musiikinjakeluportaalissa sekä Youtubessa, minkä lisäksi teosta jaellaan perinteisiä jakelureittejä pitkin, kuten klassiseen musiikkiin erikoistuneilla kansainvälisillä TV-kanavilla.
Teos on saanut tukea esittävää säveltaidetta tukevalta ESEKiltä sekä pohjoissuomalaista audiovisuaalista tuotantoa tukevalta POEMilta. TRASPARENTE-MUSIIKKIVIDEON TEKIJÄTIEDOT

New web page released

Welcome to the new and updated e-concerthouse web page! Some features might be unavailable at this stage, so please be patient. The contents of the video archive will be updated throughout March with previously released video material. This web page update presents the 3rd version of our pages.
In the 1st version of e-concerthouse portal (1996-97) there was one broadcast window with concerts from several different locations. Social interaction was made possible right from the start with text chat and video chat. In the 2nd version (2007-08) the portal was developed further to feature more concert halls and broadcast windows.
In this 3rd version more effective integrated social media and html5 compatibility are featured. However, live broadcasts may not yet be viewed with Apple products. Of course, we strive to bring our live broadcasts to as many mobile systems as possible in the future.
TFO 2011 VIDEO POSTCARDS RELEASED

Turku Philharmonic Orchestra has released a new portal where you can send musical video postcards to your friends. The page layout and technology were designed by E-concerthouse. The service is also connected to Facebook and Twitter. The portal will also be integrated into the soon to be renewed e-concerthouse pages, which will be published during the first half of January 2011. Check out the TFO Jubileum portal here
